Shield & Sword
Shield & Sword

A real man, true,
consistent
All we had to offer
laid out on the table, but there was one sword
Told you you could
keep it
I might have wanted
a shield, especially at beginning
But with a shield
you can never reach what you might be missing
And I would've
missed it
The journey, glimpse
of what a true man can give me
And still it makes
no sense
Why, now, refuse all
we'd given
Looking back now,
I've been through this
No comparing, But
the same movements
Steady rope that
starts to frail for a hidden reason that's never really hidden
And at the end of
the day, it's all stupid
But I'm refusing to
run
I'll be the most
beautiful mess, No excuses
