Not Me

How am I the shadow?

I thought I was good enough.

But somehow, I was told wrong.

I believed them and you.

In the end, I was the one to pay.

Got my hopes up, to get them shattered.

Should’ve hold up, but now, none of it seems to matter.

Trailing behind all the defenses.

I’m never seen.

They’re not fighting for me.

I’m left to witness.

Makes me want it even more.

Sad, I already know what’s in store.

It’s not me they want.

It’s not me.
