Dreamers

Dreamers

There’s a ghost in my home, standing near the corner door,
And I laugh, ain’t it funny, she looks like me,

Day by day, her light begins to dim,
All the memories playing, and the walls are closing in,

Struck down by dumb luck,
Used to be hella tough,
I can’t tell you anymore what has become the truth,

Close you eyes, Don’t ever make a wish,
Fairy dust is for the ones in the clouds,
To survive, you must know what is real,
And what can happen,
So leave the fairy tales for the dreamers,
And let them be consumed,

Her hands, you barely can see,
They’ve been digging and fighting for relief,

A relief that must take its precious time,
It’s not worried about your life, nor the heartache that lies within us,

Getting her to move has turned into some game,
One that she has no care to play,
Given everything she’s been through,
You would be the same too,

All she ever wanted, but couldn’t appear,
Anything she ever needed, but it was not near,
Cycle kept repeating and repeating, like she is some joke,
And that is why,

I say close your eyes, go on and make your wish,
It’s your life, so take control, and never give up hope,
You will survive, and you’ll be alright,
Give yourself a moment to see fairy tales are real,

You’re a dreamer, you better remember, and that’s just fine,

Keep on dreaming
