Bleeding Out (Follows)

 

Rope tight around my neck, wind pipe breaking,

I’m thinking, one minute, no breathing,

 

There is no way to endure such suffering,

Yet, here you’re suffering,

 

Glass shattered, skin deep fragments go,

I’m thinking, five minutes, no breaking,

 

Here follows the controlled sting,

Bleeding out,

Take me to the elevator, whether up or down,

I shut those questions out,

Cause if I knew the conclusion, of what would declare the end,

I might not be here now,

 

Steel barrel, playing with one round,

The fates determine,

Will the shot ring out,

 

Quick, and in an instant,

It’s amazing what a single bullet may do,

 

Here follows the fleeting pain,

Bleeding out,

Take me to the elevator, whether up or down,

I shut those questions out,

Cause if I knew the conclusion, of what would declare the end,

I might not be here now,

 

I place myself here now, in this moment,

Feeling hopeless, treading feet on the gravel road,

So many have traveled,

 

Where are their souls,

I want a nice home,

Caught up in wonderment,

 

I pull the rope down,

The glass slips through my fingers, crash to the ground,

A gun, nowhere to be found…
