Cold World

Said I have to go home today,

Staying would be a mistake,

Got more to learn, More to find,

And I can’t get it here,

 

Be mindful of what you do,

It’s like lies covering truth,

 

But I have to break free and spread my wings,

 

Taking that leap of faith,

And I’m not holding back,

Feels like I’m running and running,

But I can see no end,

Why am I dying,

I built my grave here,

In this cold, cold world,

 

You must be kidding,

The girl is not me,

I have my shit together,

But I still worry,

 

Was I wrong,

I guess I had to be,

Cause time is ticking thin, And you’re coming after me,

 

Just stop right now,

 

Taking that leap of faith,

And I’m not holding back,

Feels like I’m running and running,

But I can see no end,

Why am I dying,

I built my grave here,

In this cold, cold world,

 

You wouldn’t let me erase what I’ve done, I feel,

You won’t give me air to breathe, I’m suffocating,

And you laugh,

You’ve done this many times before,
