When All Colors Are Gray

When All Colors Are Gray

We are black, white and all the colors outside.
We are not black, white and all the colors outside.

Waiting for that one day when all colors are gray.
'Cause what you're telling me, isn't what it seems.

You take one side and emphasize black on black being a horrendous act,
Or white on black, and black on white,
But it's all the same.

Horrendous acts are horrendous acts.
One is not more. One is not less.

No colors should be seen under the microscope.
But it is.

And if we were all gray, color wouldn't matter.
But if we were all gray, they'd judge our personal discretions'.
Say, I wear my hat forwards and you wear yours to the back.
Just because I wear mine forward, I'm given funny looks,
because I don't wear mine backwards like you.

I'll continue waiting on that one day when all colors are gray.
But down here, on Earth, is not when that one day will be.
