Bruises are fresh, there’s no quick remedy to heal,

Not even words,

I never knew this then, How much the pain can hurt,

 

I hadn’t showed the signs until tonight,

Now it doesn’t matter no more,

I’m letting all the hurt go tonight,

Every breath, that I take,

Is a new beginning, The first steps,

You will be lost, And I start fresh,

All of this without you,

 

I won’t stop, I’ll wait for no one else,

Not even you,

I never knew this then, But I can survive,

 

You didn’t look me in the eyes,

Never called out the lies,
